The Cercle Luxembourgeois de Vol à Voile offers the possibility of sharing the experience of flying without engine.
Hereby, you’ll find any information how to book a glider guest flight and to make the experience of glider flight in all its shapes and sizes, either alone or with your family and friends.

The season:
Our gliding season (and thus the possibility of guest flights) runs from late April to early October. Our unpaved runway is generally unusable off-season!
Weather:
Since our sport depends on the weather conditions, it is better to choose a day without rain or gusty wind. For information on weather conditions and glider availability please contact us:

No prior formality is necessary;
Guest flights can be done with or without a presale ticket or gift voucher. Feel free to visit us at the airfield in Useldange on Sundays (during the season and by good weather conditions). (payment on location by cash or Digicash)
Important: In accordance with the regulations of the Direction de l'Aviation Civile, the presentation of an identity document before take-off is mandatory.
Maximum 1 passenger per flight (Double-seaters) / children admitted if body size at least 1,2 m.
Gliding or glider guest flights may be performed by any person and no special physical condition is required.
For the passengers taller than 195 cm or heavier than 105 kg, please contact the CLVV to agree on practical arrangements before booking the flight.
The day of your guest flight:
Our activities start around 11am and end around 7pm. Guest flights can be done at any time of the day, but still allow 30 to 60 minutes of possible waiting time if the glider should not be available immediately.

The take-off of a motorglider looks more like a take-off with a small aircraft. The flight duration is 45 minutes. The motorglider is less dependent on the thermal ascents as our pure gliders.
Motorglider "Super-Dimona" with fixed propeller used for these guestflights. Since this type of flight is less dependent on the weather, it can be done by appointment.
For this guestflight the CLVV offers the following options / variants:

Flight to destination of your choice
Within 45 minutes (Round trip - speed 180kmh), the pilot will fly to a destination of your choice (above the Grand Duchy and outside the airport control zone). The price of this guest flight is 200€ for 45 minutes

Panoramic flight
This guest flight combines the advantages of the self-launch motorglider with those of the silent flight of the pure glider, using the forces of the nature. The price of this guest flight is 200€ for 45 minutes.
Flight procedure: autonomous take-off, followed by a engine-assisted climb up to an altitude of 1200m above the Esch / Sûre lake. Then complete engine shutdown followed by a silent glide back to Useldange..

Tourist flight "The 12 Castles"
This flight will be carried out on our "Super-Dimona" motorglider with fixed propeller that is suitable for low-level flights (300m), so that you can admire the landscape and the castles more closely. The price of this guest flight is 200€ for 45 minutes.
This flight of 45-50 minutes will take you to the following 12 castles: Koerich, Ansembourg, Larochette, Echternach Basilica, Beaufort, Vianden, Brandenburg, Bourscheid, Clervaux, Esch / Sûre and its lake and finally the return via Colmar Berg to Useldange .
This aerobatic flight will be an unforgettable and unique experience for thrill-seekers.
Better than in any roller coaster you will discover the world from an unusual angle. A flight without engine defying the laws of physics.
The glider will be towed by aircraft up to an altitude of 1300 m above ground. After release, the flight will continue without engine power in a sequence of loops, rolls, inverted flights, steep turns,… This type of guest flight will be performed by our pilots approved for glider aerobatics.
The price of this thrilling guest flight is 150 €.

The validity period of the voucher is 2 years / 2 seasons. The guest flights can be flown on weekend and holidays from 11.00 to 19.00. You can communicate us by mail the desired day of your flight (days of flight activity and by good weather conditions), and contact us back 2 days before your flight to get informed on weather conditions and feasibility of your flight.
